Housecleaning is no easy task! But…..it CAN be made much simpler.
Simplifying your cleaners is just one way to do this. Using gentle, non toxic alternatives means:
- easy ingredients that are likely in your pantry
- worry- free as they won’t damage you or your home, even your kids can use safely
- universal because you can use everywhere on everything
Another way to simplify cleaning in addition to using simple ingredients that you can quickly make and refill yourself is keeping a LOW COST. Making cleaners yourself means you don’t have to check your available balance before placing an order on amazon, or marking your calendar to order cleaning supplies monthly to keep in stock.
Lastly, keeping cleaners local so you can easily grab when needed means you’ll stay on top of cleaning more often.
One degreaser bottle in the kitchen under the sink or better yet on the counter is all thats needed.
Simple.
One spray bottle in each bathroom.
If your cleaners are also simple AND attractive, you won’t mind keeping them out and if their out, you will grab spray n wipe more often staying on top of your cleaning. If its out, you use it; tuck it away, out of site out of mind.
Thats it!
but I want to make this EVEN SIMPLER for you.
Here are some DIY cleaning recipes
for you to have on hand so that you don’t have to do any research online for efficient ones. I’ve done the homework for you:) These should be all you need to clean the WHOLE house.

TIP: If your not sure which to use in your all purpose, vinegar or alcohol, the only difference aside from which scent you prefer, is that vinegar is not safe on granite, marble or soap stone and alcohol is. Vinegar is safe on wood element, but alcohol will dry it out.

Tip: these next two recipes can be used on hands as a sanitizer spray and is safe for all elements including fabric. If you would like it to be safe for pets too, just use lavender EO’s and avoid citrus.

I get all my glass spray bottles here at
because they’re quality and still inexpensive. Yes, I definitely recommend glass vs plastic and NOT just because their prettier and non-toxic to the environment.
