Hey, all!!! I’d like to show you what a professional routine Weekly clean should look like, in case you want to add these tasks to YOUR weekly to do list OR maybe you just want to cue your hired help and make sure they are getting all that’s needed done.
What’s in a Routine Weekly Clean?
• Dusting (allow 30-45min/1,000sqft)
this includes all surfaces
Lighting fixtures
Wipe tv screens & computer monitors
Disinfecting your 5 high-touch zones which are
(door knobs, handles, light switch plates, remotes, alarm clocks including heating thermostats and wall controls, and computer keyboards).
Working up a sweat yet? Just THINKING about it right? Actually that’s not entirely far off….during professional cleans my staff n I consider dusting to be our “pre work out stretch;” it gets your heart rate up, your blood pumping and your body stretching. If your interested, I challenge you to put your step tracker on while you dust. You will be pleasantly surprised:)
Cloth wipe upholstered furniture
(get under couch/chair cushions monthly)
Clean door glass & mirrors
Baseboards
NOTE: window sills/panes, molding/trim, ceiling/wall lighting, blinds and curtain rods should be rotationally added into your cleanings monthly. These are considered a monthly or Deep Cleaning add on.
Leave densely occupied areas like a bookshelf to be done more thoroughly as an add-on.
* Doors and frames should be wiped down on a monthly rotation
*its easiest to dust by room (which I refer to as ZONING) in a perimeter to center, top to bottom strategy.
• Next up, the KITCHEN! (Allow approx 45min)
• BATHROOMS (allow 15minutes for each half bath, 30minutes for full and 45minutes for en-suite).
Note: see separate blog post for a full step by step tutorials on kitchen and bathroom cleanings.

• vacuum and mop (matches dusting time)
Vac upholstered furniture as needed
Under furniture
All area rugs
IF there are pets in your home, vacuuming the hem of drapes is a good routine
*rotationally get under small area rugs and under large ones at least a foot around the perimeter.
• trash collected and removed to outdoor bins
Some personal choice add ons to your weekly cleans:
• bed changes
• launder dog bed covers
• personal laundry
Monthly to Semi-Annual add ons include
• launder duvet covers/comforters/throws/drapes
• launder shower curtains/liners & furniture slipcovers
•inside oven and fridge/freezer
Like if you found this helpful in giving you ideas to pack your weekly cleaning checklists with and comment if you can think of anything else that should be in a Weekly clean that’s NOT listed here.
Happy Cleaning!!
