Quick Cleaning HACK

Bet you would be shocked to know that the one person in the WORLD that I consider to have the most in common with a professional cleaner…..…(drum roll)……is A MOM. For one reason. Cleaning time is of the essence. NO ONE needs to make the most of their cleaning time more so than professional cleaning pros and moms. Therefore, todays HACK is for the moms, although every hardworking homeowner will inevitably love this hack also if they appreciate a thorough clean and have only minutes to do it in. Same for the green cleaning queenies who would like a cost effective and eco-friendly alternative to Swiffer mop refills and cut down on the vac bags they go through.

Tools for this hack

In addition to the star fiber pro mop, make sure you have the extra mop heads pack that includes the static dust pad and the striped wood floor and tile heads as well for a deaper scrub. The green chenille tentacle looking one is best used dry for sweeping large debris; I don’t love it for hardwood floor wet mopping as it can leave leave streaks. FYI do not wash these with soap just hot water cycle unless you have a simple detergent or it ruins the fibers and makes them incapable of static cling and dirt collection.

Tips in using this hacks tool

When using the star fiber pro mop practicing sweeping in an “S” pattern as seen in the video clip. This helps hold the dirt. The amount and size of dirt held is far superior to Swiffer dust mops with the added bonus of the mop heads being free and interchangeable. The star fiber pro mop canNOT be evenly substituted for things like the Bona Mop or the ECloth mop, they don’t maneuver as easily or get under low furniture as well.

Each time you sweep mop or vacuum just make it a practice of sticking the side of your vacuum head or mop head halfway under the rug to as you go around it’s perimeter. This keeps debris from collecting and staying which over time scratches and warps your flooring.

Why sweep mop instead of vacuum?
1) It saves expensive vacuum bags

2)It’s a little faster and easier than vacuuming

3) It’s a good in-between for when floors are more dusty than dirty or for clinging to dust bunnies or pet hair and even when there is large debris like in front of my fire place that you don’t want to clog up your vacuum or take up space in the small bags. In places like high functioning kitchens, classrooms, craft rooms, hair salons, or homeschool dining rooms where you would need to pull out a vacuum MULTIPLE times in a day, grabbing the sweep mop is faster, and with less effort and inevitably costing less. If you have long haired pets and have to vacuum daily to multiple times a day also-you can save a LOT of energy time and money on bags using this easy hack.
